America’s Grow a Row Project

 In Spotlight

It was a crisp fall day on Friday, October 12, when the Liberty Garden Club in the New Jersey Chapter, along with a team of 140 volunteers from AT&T supported a wonderful community service project at America’s Grow-A-Row (AGAR).   It’s hard to believe that there are families that lack access to healthy, fresh produce.  AGAR sets up free produce markets and provides free  produce to soup kitchens and food pantries in New York City, and throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware and Maryland.

The AT&T team picked 127,000 pounds of corn and winter squash – enough to produce 500,000 servings!  This demonstrates the importance of community service and power and community spirit.  And, truly supports the Pioneers mission to impact immediate, tangible change in the communities where we live and work!
