Spot Light on MO Chapter
On August 10, the MO Chapter of the AT&T Pioneers donated 320 Books to Turn the Page KC. The mission of Turn the Page KC is to mobilize the community to achieve reading proficiency at grade level or above for all third graders in Kansas City, Missouri. Turn the Page KC was founded by Mayor Sly James in 2011 as an initiative to raise the reading proficiency of third grader.
The Pioneers were able to purchase 320 books via a Pioneers Charitable Foundation Fund grant. Of these 320 books, 138 bilingual and Spanish language books will go to the Mattie Rhoades Center for their Parent Educator to give to mothers of babies and toddlers. The Mattie Rhodes Center enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities in a respectful, multicultural environment.
