The Spotlight on Wreaths Across America and the Johnson City Pioneers

 In Uncategorized

Every year on the second or third Saturday of December is Wreath Day, the day that wreaths are placed on the sites at the national and state cemeteries.  This is a coordinated event set to coincide with the placing of the wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery at 12:00 noon.  Volunteers, organizations, veteran’s groups and local clubs and companies come out to place the wreaths.  This includes AT&T Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, Boy Scouts of America, ROTC, JROTC groups from the community, Rolling Thunder, as well as local and national veteran’s motorcycle clubs and organizations such as Vietnam Veterans of America, and the Patriot Guard Riders.

This year was again an enormous success with the help of these organizations and the addition of AT&T Pioneers, over 7,800 wreaths were placed at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN.
